AMD kills ATI brand - Engadget I can see why they did this, because AMD do have a combo processor / graphics product coming out and it does make sense to have as simple branding as possibe. Especially if both your brands are 3 letters long and both start with A. On the other hand, it’s sad to lose such a well respected name in PC gaming, and gaming in general as they power the Wii and possibly other consoles.
