(via BBC Sport - McLaren team reveal new car for 2012 Formula 1 season)
You can tell that they’ve ditched the U-shaped sidepods for more traditional ones, albeit very square and flatter than some.
Still, you would think that they’d spice up the livery a bit from time to time. I’m a bit bored with the same thing every year now, but at least it doesn’t have the ugly front that the caterham car has.

Finally, common sense prevails. Well, so they say. I’ll believe it when I see it. This from the company charging £60 for download versions of not even very good £40 games.
I’d love to see him get a deal for the road courses next year. I think he’d be great for the team and give them a chance to win races. I don’t really want to see him in oval races though after what happened in Vegas. It’s just so dangerous to do those in open wheel cars.

What a huge disappointment and a shock. I don’t understand the logic behind this. It’s the brand new and more prestigious FIA world endurance championship and the car is already built and ready so it’s just a waste not to use it.
Peugeot are basically handing Audi the championship before it’s even begun and puts all of their top drivers in a very difficult position to find new drives in time.
Guys like Anthony Davidson, Sebastian Bourdais and the others should have a competitive drive but I’m not sure where they’re going to find one at short notice.

It would be great to see it at no extra cost on Eurosport, that’s for sure.

Video footage of a recovering Bryan Stow - CBSSports.com -
This is just absolutely sickening. I mean for people to attack a good man at a baseball game for no reason is bad enough. But for a simple assault to escalate to a point where this man has been essentially robbed of the normal rest of his life that he would have most likely had is so appalling.
I hope he makes the best possible recovery he can and wish him and his family the best.

Oh well, just when I was starting to warm to the idea of becoming a postman on a bike, I find this out.

(via HP wasted billions on Palm and webOS | The Verge)
With hindsight I’m sure they realise that it would have been a better idea to just build their own Android powered tablet and leave Palm to probably dissolve. Obviously you don’t want to see big names go out of business but Palm just don’t have anything going for them right now from what I can tell.
They aren’t innovating and they aren’t selling in bulk like Nokia do so I don’t see where the value was in inheriting them and their irrelevant mobile operating system WebOS.

That does look fantastic. I have a SE Mini Pro with Android 2.1 still and this is such a huge improvement over what I have. Hopefully apps will stay compatible with mine for long enough until I can get a new one eventually.
(via BBC News - Virgin Money looks to join the mainstream)
This is quite exciting. I think they could have a success here and may well join the ranks of the biggest banks in the country eventually. They’re inheriting a pretty large business to start with and have plenty of room to grow. Of course, they could end up as small fry in a similar way to Virgin Mobile but I think even if that were to be the case, it’s still a positive move for the brand to get into high street banking. Plus, it’s something fresh and exciting for customers who perhaps would be glad of a change from the norm.
